Okay, it's official: we're on "holiday traditions" overload. But, on the other hand, why stop when you're having fun? For the last several years we've made gingerbread houses with the kids. This was Peter's big debut of having his own, official gingerbread house, and not just being a spectator. Lizzy has always loved making her house. In fact, she's been obsessed with it the last week, and asking for it constantly. Thank goodness we had some time this afternoon. We quickly assembled the houses (we know our audience and speed is much more valued than perfection when it comes to house aesthetics), and then the decorating began. Lizzy was in heaven! She covered her house, even putting patterns of candy along some of the edges. Peter was such a cutie. He loved being a part of the mix, and sat there forever carefully placing his candy pieces. Now we have two "masterpieces" decorating our table. Here's to many more sweet holiday traditions.
