We are so, so lucky to live near our Grandparents. No one loves you like your Grandma and Grandpa, and it's been so wonderful that our children have gotten to really know their grandparents and spend a lot of special time with them. Lizzy had Grandparents Day at her school. Our dedicated grandparents made the trek from all corners of the Bay Area, early in the morning, to spend the day with Lizzy. The day began with Mass, and it was extra special because Lizzy got to sit with her Grandmas and Papa. Afterwards, the Grandparents enjoyed some refreshments, then visited Lizzy in her classroom. Since it was a half day, we all had lunch together after. Believe it or not, lunch out, in a semi-nice restaurant, with a five-year-old, three-year-old, and baby, was actually enjoyable. What could have been a recipe for disaster was a lovely meal together. It could have been the 1:1 supervision, but I'll chalk it up to some extra-special grandparent magic.
