Friends

Peter has a very special friend at school. His name is Evan. Evan also happens to be our neighbor, so we get to play with him a lot. Evan has become Peter's special friend at school. Peter looks forward to seeing him, seeks him out the moment we get there, and has lots to say about Evan. Thank goodness for Evan! He has turned the uncertainty of school into a safe sanctuary. These friends could not be more different, and perhaps that's what draws them together. Evan is a busy bee. He's into everything, daring, talkative, charming, and a risk-taker. Peter is calm. He's cautious, slow to warm to new situations, an observer, and a thinker. Evan brings out Peter's silly side. He allows Peter an "in" to social situations at school. Evan's great to run around with, wrestle with, and is always up for a good time. How wonderful to make a connection with a special friend. I'm so happy Peter has Evan.
