Wait......who's that little guy in the dancing circle? He's not in the class, is he? Well, Peter successfully made his way into Lizzy's dance class, with his sneaky, quiet, excellent following-along skills, Peter was able to achieve his goal- ultimate Lizzy copying! In fact, it was quite a study on mimicking mastery. I wondered how this would all play out. Lizzy had been talking to Peter all morning about her dance class, and telling him that he could join her in it today. When we entered class, Lizzy and Peter found spots in the circle, and both joined right in. Lizzy was really into everything, and Peter was a natural. It was totally adorable to behold. Lizzy gave lots of hand signals to Peter to follow her, saved him spots whenever they moved to a new place in the room, and held his hand throughout. When the class was broken up into groups, Lizzy announced, "Um, excuse me. This is my little brother. He really likes me and wants to do what I'm doing, so can we be in the same group?" The teacher was only too happy to comply. I am so, so thankful everyday that not only do I get to be ever present for the moments of my children's lives, but that I get to see their friendship bloom and their sibling love grow. It is truly a priceless gift!
