We have been in a complete bike-riding bonanza! Our neighbor friend came over to show Lizzy his new bike he got for Christmas, and Lizzy quickly noticed it had no training wheels. She demanded we take her training wheels of right away, because if Rowan could do it, well then she certainly could as well. I was hesitant, but Lizzy was so determined, I decided to let her give it a try. Lizzy tackled bike riding with her typical incredibly focused, determined, fearless Lizzy spirit. Within a few tries she was whizzing down the street, a huge smile on her face. She's spent the last week or so practicing starting, stopping, and turning, and while she's still a little rocky, she gets better everyday. Now every afternoon the kids gather in the street to ride their bikes back and forth in a big oval. It's so fun to see them all riding around, so proud of themselves and full of life. When Peter wakes up from his nap, he springs right out of bed to join them on his scooter. It won't be long before he'll want a bike of his own to join the crowd.
