A great new feature of our new backyard is this wonderful herb garden that our landlady planted for us. She took cuttings from her own garden, and even took the time to label them- very sweet! Knowing our legendary black thumb, it is pretty amazing we have not killed anything yet (but let's not get too excited- it's only been a few weeks)! Elizabeth loves the garden! She loves to water the plants and dig in the dirt, and a new favorite is to pull out the weeds. Yesterday our first strawberries were ripe, and there was something so wonderful about picking them right off the stem and enjoying them on the spot. I remember having strawberry plants in my own backyard when I was a little girl, and being so amazed how the strawberries grew from flowers to yummy berries, seemingly right before my eyes. Hopefully we'll have many more treats to enjoy soon!
